So, a video was randomly posted to me of America's favorite professional celebrity, recently brought into the US presidential debate by a McCain ad comparing the socialite status of his esteemed opponent to... Paris Hilton.
By now the world is used to "the latest Paris Hilton video" being released. Illicit Sex tapes... breaking down and crying by being put in jail for acting terminally stupid an irresponsible. She knows how to keep herself in the headlines. So when you get a video link, one watches as if rubbernecking a fatal accident. What the hell could this crazy bimbo screw up now? I have to see...
Yeah, so here's the secret... Her family runs a top global brand hotel chain... She makes more money than the average US CEO on her own business ventures. Little Miss media whore ain't as stupid as she'd like us to think.
And when given a golden opportunity and some decent writers, it seems she can actually deal with the US media with sophistication, humor, and tounge-in-cheek class.
Kudos to her.

PARIS HILTON JUST TOOK OVER THE US PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE.

No, seriously. The world's classic airhead has the world news media (BBC, CNN, FOX, AP) buzzing about what a savvy move she just made, and how much she just changed the spin on the campaigns. This is friggin ridiculous.
And the candidates, both scratching their heads and saying... "yeah, she's right about this one."
It's a pretty horrible sign of the state of American politics when a jester like her can go steal the crown for a bit and the princes of our system shrug and look at their staff to craft an appropriate, timely, and strategic media response to the fact that they just got PWN'd.
