I took the ol' picturemaker out for a spin on Sunday and shot about a hundred photos (digital), a healthy edit of which is here. Turns out that said camera, which I haven't really played with all that much yet, has a hellaciously good macro function, if hard to focus with given the LCD-only viewfinder. Another discovery is a happy realization that, as once told by a Prof. at SMU, the closer you examine your own back yard, you'll find more things to fascinate the eye than you can shoot in a month. Based on my one day getting these pics at the Dallas Arboretum I determined I could probably spend a full day coaxing shots out of, say, 50 feet of garden. I don't know why I am starting to shoot with such voraciousness, but it's better than sitting around watching TV and letting my insomnia drive me nuts (or be a symptom of me being nuts?) In any case, enjoy. If you like what you see, the originals are 4000x3000px approx. I'm going to do some testing about printing them large format (14x17 or so?) Or you can get your own prints from my deviantart page. That's a cool tool...
